Elon Musk exaggerated austerity on Twitter... He doesn't pay rent, he also has office supplies for sale

Elon Musk, one of the most eye-catching bosses in tech, is back on the agenda with his new moves. Now it’s been claimed Musk didn’t pay rent for his Twitter offices. Musk is also reportedly considering not paying severance payments to thousands of employees who have been removed since Twitter’s acquisition.

Elon Musk exaggerated austerity on Twitter... He doesn't pay rent, he also has office supplies for sale

Elon Musk, who eventually became the owner of Twitter for $44 billion in October, has drawn attention to himself with his eventful actions since becoming sole manager of the platform after months of buying it.

Musk; It’s the target of harsh criticism, forcing employees to lay off thousands of employees, setting tight deadlines on projects, forcing employees to stay in the office, hiring food services. Musk not only reaped backlash from the company’s management, but also stirred controversy by re-enabling suspended accounts and changing the rule against misinformation.

DOES NOT PAY RENT OR COMPENSATION

While Musk is trying to cut costs, Twitter has reportedly halted rent payments at its San Francisco headquarters. It is also said to be considering not paying severance to the thousands of employees he laid off after buying the platform.

While Musk originally decided that employees he fired would receive up to two months’ salary and a month’s severance pay to comply with labor laws, he’s now reconsidering the idea. Sources said that Musk is only considering paying for severance lawsuits instead of paying his former employees.

Musk has stopped paying rent for his San Francisco office and Twitter offices around the world, according to the New York Times.

OFFICE GOODS AT AUCTION

It is said that Musk has had problems with payments since he bought Twitter. It says there that not only do I not pay any rent, but also the travel expenses incurred by the employees since the company was bought.

Twitter’s new manager not only keeps watch, but also sells office supplies.

One of the Twitter office items up for auction…

Musk is now clearing his Twitter hub by auctioning off a giant Twitter bird sculpture and other office supplies. Items in the San Francisco office include a $20,000 espresso machine, a $10,000 vegetable dryer and a $17,000 frying pan, as well as chairs, tables and barrels.

It’s unclear why Musk decided to put the items up for auction, but some attribute it to cutting Twitter costs.

“WE CANNOT FULFILL $44 BILLION”

HGP spokesman Nick Dove, who organized the auction, debunked assumptions that the auction would settle financial issues, saying: “It was bought for $44 billion. And we sell several chairs, tables and computers. So it’s not possible to cover that price by selling a few computers and chairs.”

It was also notable that Musk lost the title of the richest person in the world to Louis Vuitton owner Bernard Arnault right after the auction was announced. Arnault, 73, is President and CEO of LVMH. He owns luxury brands like Dior, Tiffany and Bulgari and is currently the richest person in the world with a fortune of $170.6 billion. Musk’s fortune is currently worth $163.1 billion.

ALSO REMOVED THE COUNCIL

Twitter with Elon Musk has been on the agenda a lot lately. The platform also caused a stir this week with the dissolution of the Trust and Security Council, an advisory group made up of around 100 independent civil, human rights and other organizations. The company established the council in 2016 to address hate speech, child abuse, suicide, self-harm and other issues on the platform.

The council was due to meet with Twitter officials on Monday evening, but Twitter reported via email that it had disbanded the group shortly before the meeting, according to several members.
