TOGG CEO Mehmet Gürcan Karakaş, Karakaş said: “Today’s automotive world is interested in the creation of the product concept, the development of the vehicle, the production, the sale and the consequences. Our work begins where the work of classic vehicle manufacturers ends. We turn the car into a new generation smart device. Because, in line with changing user expectations, the transformation that took place in the phone in the past is taking place in the automotive industry today.”
“THE TRANSFORMATION ON THE TELEPHONE LIVES IN THE AUTOMOTIVE TODAY”
Mehmet Gürcan Karakaş, CEO of TOGG, made important statements in his interview in the special edition of “Samsun E-Journal” prepared for TEKNOFEST by Samsun Metropolitan Municipality. Regarding the meaning of the slogan “More than an automobile” expressed for TOGG, Karakaş said: “Ecosystem literally describes an order formed by the interaction of living and non-living beings, feeding on each other. The mobility ecosystem, on the other hand, means a world where all transportation alternatives and all kinds of services that enrich our lives are intelligently connected and interactive. The automotive industry is rapidly transforming into a mobility ecosystem, and the rules of the game are changing. Today’s automotive world deals with the creation of the product concept, the development of the vehicle, the production, the sale and the consequences. Our work begins where the work of classic vehicle manufacturers ends, we transform the automobile into an intelligent device of the new generation. Because, in line with changing user expectations, the transformation that took place in the phone in the past is taking place in the automotive industry today.”
Karakaş continued: “From the very beginning, we have defined our smart device as user-centric, intelligent, empathetic, connected, autonomous, shared and electric. That’s why we’ve created all kinds of designs and product developments this way since the beginning. In English, the abbreviation “case” is used for connected, autonomous, shared and electric vehicles. But that wasn’t enough for us. We added the words “user-centric-user-centric, smart-smart, and empathic-empathic” at the beginning because these concepts define the difference between what we do and what we will do. A concept emerged with the English ‘USE-CASE Mobility’ and as we prepared for the global competition, we registered the concept worldwide as a trademark in the name of TOGG.”
HERE ARE THE FEATURES THAT MAKE TOGG DIFFERENT
Karakaş explains the features that make TOGG stand out: “The C-SUV model, which will be produced as Turkey’s first electric, zero-emission and intelligent car, has the longest wheelbase in its class, the widest interior volume and the best acceleration performance TOGG, which aims to provide mobility solutions beyond form that can anticipate future smart transportation needs, will launch first in Turkey and Europe in the first quarter of 2023, approximately 18 months after that date. He will also be on the way.”

Karakaş explained that TOGG’s first smart device will hit the roads in the first quarter of 2023, first in Turkey and 18 months later in Europe. The 200 hp version will go from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds accelerate, while the 200 hp version is 80 percent full in 25 minutes with a quick charge. He also founded a company to strengthen Turkey’s charging infrastructure, which has started building 1,000 fast charging stations for this purpose.
