The number of businesses closed in April increased by 125.9%

According to TOBB data, the number of businesses closed in April increased by 125.9 percent compared to the same month last year. In the January-April period, a total of 5,000 321 companies and 8,000 271 trading companies were closed.

According to the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), the number of companies founded in April 2022 fell by 3.9 percent, the number of real trading companies founded by 16.0 percent and the number of cooperatives founded by 5.8 percent compared to the previous month.

During the same period, the number of closed enterprises increased by 59.0 percent and the number of closed cooperatives increased by 23.3 percent by 1.6 percent.

In April 2022, compared to April 2021, the number of business establishments increased by 25.5 percent, the number of cooperatives by 14.8 percent, while the number of established real trading companies decreased by 14.0 percent.

In April 2022, the number of closed enterprises increased by 125.9 percent, the number of closed cooperatives by 5.0 percent and the number of closed commercial establishments by 31.9 percent compared to the same month of 2021.

While 10,751 companies were founded in April, 2,162 companies were closed.

NUMBER OF CLOSED COMPANIES INCREASED IN THE FIRST FOUR MONTHS

In the first 4 months of 2022 compared to the first 4 months of 2021, the number of business creations increased by 6.3 percent, the number of cooperatives by 11.1 percent, while the number of real trading companies created increased by 18, 5 percent declined.

85.7 PERCENT OF LIMITED COMPANIES

Of the 10,914 companies and cooperatives founded in April 2022, 85.7 percent were incorporated as corporations, 12.8 percent as public limited companies and 1.5 percent as cooperatives.

40.8 percent of the companies and cooperatives were established in Istanbul, 9.7 percent in Ankara and 6.1 percent in Izmir.

The company was not founded in Bayburt in April.

In 2022, a total of 43,788 companies and cooperatives were founded. A total of 37,726 limited companies incorporated during this period accounted for 76.8 percent of the total capital, while 5,000 457 public companies accounted for 22.3 percent.

The total capital of companies founded in April fell by 1.7 percent compared to March.

Established in April 2022, 860 out of 1650 foreign joint venture companies were established with Turkey, 136 with the Russian Federation and 120 with Iran.

Of the foreign joint venture companies established in 1650, 142 were incorporated as joint-stock companies and 1,508 as limited liability companies. Of the companies founded in 2022, 862 were active in the wholesale of non-specialized retail goods, 346 in real estate brokerage and 296 in business and other administrative consulting.
